About Double E Grains

We are family owned and operated for three generations, and our 8,000 acre farm is mostly dedicated to grain production

Our Farm

We’re in the heart of the Saskatchewan Valley, 15 minutes away from the the South Saskatchewan river and 20 minutes to the North Saskatchewan river.  We’re an easy 40 minute drive north from the provinces largest city, Saskatoon.

We’ve been hosts to many, including the 2022 Western Canadian Barley Tour put on by the CMBTC with guests from across the world

Located in the heart of the malting barley production area of Canada, our vertical integration growing and malting gives us unparalleled control over agronomic decision-making, quality, sustainability initiatives and traceability for what we grow and produce

Our Production & Storage Capacity

We always look to showcase our quality, sustainability, and traceability, and we are well known for our production capacity

Approximate (yields/yr) by Crop:

Canola 62 bpa

Hard Red Spring Wheat 72 bpa

Barley 84 bpa

Farm Systems & Technology:

We have been running a no-till system minimal pass system for >30 years.  We have brand new equipment running Tier 4 engines for emissions across the board including the new John Deer X9 combines with significant fuel efficiency.  We use RTK GPS allowing us to map and route our fields to 1” precision.  An example of this utility is that our 84 foot seeder can seed right between the stubble rows from the previous crop allowing for perfect seed to soil contact and leaving the stubble intact to trap moisture and create organic matter.  We soil test every field and create a prescription for nutrients.  This plus 4R nutrient sustainability practices and sectional control across all of our application equipment, means we never over-apply nitrogen or other nutrients.  We also use our variable-rate application where appropriate.  Over the last two seasons we have seeded all of the areas alongside watersheds to perennial grasses to maintain the natural habitat

Storage Bins / Capacity:

300,000 bushels of aerated bin storage on hopper bottoms

Our Plans

Double E Grain will be producing grain using more technology and traceability than ever before.  More of its production will be moving directly to end-users who value our capability to showcase quality, sustainability and traceability.
